At present, there are three kinds of synthetic resin paints with excellent properties - polyurethane varnish, polyester varnish and acrylic varnish. Polyurethane varnish is a new type of interior coating with excellent performance. Due to the thick film and high solid content, the paint film looks like glass after drying. Some people call it "glass paint", also known as "resin paint".

Polyurethane varnish is generally divided into two components. One component is a prepolymer made of isocyanates and polyols; The other component is a high molecular compound containing hydroxyl groups. It has less solvent content, thick and plump film, bright and smooth, good friction resistance, chemical resistance and heat resistance, so its performance is better than nitro paint, and the operation is simple.

At present, there are 685, 745, 7511, 7110 and s871 polyurethane varnishes on the market. Polyester varnish is copolymerized by unsaturated polyester resin and styrene monomer in the presence of initiator. It has thick film, plump appearance, good hardness, good wear and chemical resistance.

At present, polyester varnishes often used generally include wax type and non wax type. There is no great difference in their composition, but only different ways of oxygen isolation. The former uses paraffin in paint to isolate oxygen, while the latter uses glass or polyester film to isolate oxygen during construction. Because the paint needs to be isolated from the air during construction, the construction procedures are troublesome, and it is only suitable for the coating of large planes.

In order to facilitate construction, manufacturers have produced three-component high-grade unsaturated polyester paint. Acrylic varnish is a kind of coating with methacrylate and acrylate copolymer resin as the main film-forming material. This paint has good brightness and hardness, light color, good adhesion, firmness, wear resistance, strong chemical resistance and fast drying.

Its disadvantages are high price, easy to become sticky when heated, high viscosity during operation, and easy to produce wire drawing or orange peel.
